Through my work on the with the committee coordinating the creation of a It Gets Better video at Simmons College (http://simmons.edu/itgetsbetter/), I have worked to gather information about Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) youth and their stuggles, especially in their pre-college years. It became immediately obvious to me that it is important not only for LGBTQ youth to hear the message of hope through the It Gets Better project videos, but to also see the stats that prove they are in fact not alone. This infographic two part series is a way for me to help others both understand what it means to grow up LGBTQ, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY pull together information that shares the message IT DOES GET BETTER.
Please share these graphics and help other understand how important it is for us to do this work.
Please visit The Trevor Project for more information about preventing suicide in teens, and how to get help if you are in crisis. Also visit the original It Gets Better Project website for more information about how the project got started, to pledge support as an ally, and to watch hundreds of amazing videos.
